Proud day for women’s footy

HISTORY will be made today with the inaugural AFL Sunraysia Women’s Football League grand final at Lake Cullulleraine.

Played before the Millewa Football League grand final, two of the Millewa region’s biggest rivals in Werrimull and Bambill will contest the women’s flag. 

But while on the field it is no-holds-barred, both team’s captains – Bambill’s Ange Jennings and Sam Bice and Werrimull’s Jemma Johnson – reflected with pride on how far the competition as a whole had come in its debut season.
