Field is all set

THE next Mildura Council will be elected from the largest field of candidates in recent memory.

The ballot order was determined after nominations closed at noon yesterday, with 28 candidates vying for the nine available seats on council.

Incumbent councillor Mark Eckel claimed poll position, with challenger Min Poole drawn second and Cr John Arnold – who was the second councillor elected at the 2012 poll – the third name on the ballot paper.
