MERBEIN Speedway rider Justin Sedgmen’s British Elite League speedway season is over after his Swindon Robins fell at Lakeside on Friday.

Team boss Alun Rossiter will sound out Australian talisman Jason Doyle over a winter shake-up at Swindon after the Robins were sent spinning out of the top four on a night to forget at Purfleet with the 58-35 setback ending their run of four consecutive Elite League play-off appearances.

The 2012 champions rarely threatened to secure the single point they required to join Belle Vue, Poole and Wolverhampton in the semi-finals with only Doyle and reserve Charles Wright mustering heat wins on the night.
