Ali tickled pink: Meeting of a lifetime with music star

THE proof is there, but Ali Murphy still can’t believe she got to meet her idol Pink when the singer visited Australia last week.

As the winner of a Sony Music competition, the 17-year-old St Joseph’s College student and her mum, Margaret, were flown to Sydney for an exclusive performance in the Nova Red Room last Monday.

Radio hosts Fitzy and Wippa interviewed the recording star before she performed two songs for the crowd of about 30 fans.

Ali was also lucky enough to have Pink sign a photo and a copy of her new album The Truth About Love. But Pink didn’t go home empty handed either.

Ali and her mum presented Pink with a gift bag containing local produce, including a bottle of Trentham Estate wine, orange dipped in chocolate from the Mildura Chocolate Factory, Murray River pink salt and a counting book by Australian author Mem Fox for Pink’s daughter, Willow

Ali said it was amazing to meet the star in such an intimate setting, but wished she was able to talk to her more.

“I still can’t believe it happened,” she said.

“I don’t remember most of it.
