THE Mallee Touch Association wants more members during the summer season.
The local touch football competition wound up on Wednesday night with the winter season grand final, but will restart in the coming weeks for summer play.
Standout teams Chaffey Green and Chaffey Gold had another highly competitive encounter in the final this week, with Green capitalising on a fast start to win 11-9.
The MTA will hold a ‘‘come and try’’ day on October 17 and hopes local football teams will take up the sport to keep fit during the off season.
MTA’s Jess Garioch added that as well as the men’s competition, beginning on October 29, there will also be a mixed competition beginning on October 24.
“We are hoping to get more people involved in the summer competitions,” she said.
