Locals eyeing Apple’s latest phone

Christmas has come early for many locals who waited in line this morning for the latest Apple product on the market.

The iPhone 5 has been on the minds of many in Sunraysia ahead of today’s release, with many stores opening early to cater for demand.

Optus Shop store manager David McNabb said interest in  the iPhone 5 was “huge”.

“We will be opening at 8am today for customers to come in,” Mr McNabb said.

“We have a good stock, and anyone who does miss out can go straight on the waiting list and receive theirs in the next shipment we get, which would only take another week.

“Last time we released an iPhone there were hundreds coming in throughout the day, but they were sold out in a matter of hours.

“We have had iPhone 5 covers in stock for the past two weeks, so we have really been prepared this year.”

Mr McNabb said the main difference between the iPhone 4s and 5 was the weight, explaining “they are only 30 grams and they are a taller phone”.
