PROLIFIC goal-scorer and Irymple Knights playmaker Chris Romeo completed a hat-trick off the pitch last weekend.
The soccer star added to his collection of personal accolades, scooping best and fairest awards for the FFV-Sunraysia S-League Seniors last Friday night and for his club on Saturday.
Knights’ go-to man took home the club’s leading goal scorer trophy on the same night.
While the goal scoring award on Saturday was somewhat predictable, Romeo said he was “shocked” to be named the league’s best and fairest player the night before.
“Honestly it was a surprise, when I started the year there were a lot of quality players in the league and I was actually away for three of the 15 rounds, I was overseas with family for five weeks and missed three games and five trainings, and I ended up coming back and getting best on,” he said.
“I was just in shock to win, to be recognised by the referees and all the other league players.”
