NINE records were broken on Monday as the top athletes from schools across the region converged at the Aerodrome Ovals for Interschool Athletics.
Sunraysia division co-ordinator for School Sport Victoria Kym Mayne said while conditions were not ideal, students pushed through and put on a great display of athleticism and sportsmanship.
“The level of competition was quite good,” she said.
“Those taking part were the winners of each school’s sports day who progressed through to this event. We had some very good personal results and we’re going to have a very strong team heading to the next round.”
Throughout the day secondary students competed in a raft of events including long jump, high jump, relays, sprints, shot put, discus and javelin.
