‘Stop DeAngelis’: Moncur shares the key to Roos’ success or failure

SHUTTING down the influence of Donato DeAngelis, Brad Eaton and Aaron Baynes will be the key to Wentworth’s grand final success or failure this weekend, according to new Red Cliffs coach Troy Moncur.

Moncur was the last coach to mastermind a victory over Irymple in a grand final when Robinvale won in 2010.

The Swallows will go in as red-hot favourites in this weekend’s SFNL season decider on the back of a 17-game winning streak, including three wins over the Roos this year.

Moncur said a lot would rest on Wentworth’s ability to clear the ball out of the middle and run the ball off their half-back flank.

Moncur also said the Roos would need to make the most of their inside forward 50 entries.

“Wentworth will need to kick 18 to 20 goals to win,” Moncur said.
