ROBINVALE Storm have won back-to-back Sunraysia Rugby League titles, defeating Chaffey Titans 22-16 at Wentworth on Saturday.
Willis Taualupe, Ofa Kei, Mosese Tonga and Jonathan Sa all crossed the line for the Storm, while Francisco Taimani scored two goals.
It was enough to build a six-point buffer over the Titans despite tries to Sione Taufa, Esitimoa Ealelei and Samiuela Napaa.
Storm coach Alani Masila said it had been a hard and close contest.
The Storm won the grand final despite finishing second in the home-and-away season, knocking off minor premiers Sunraysia Rabbitohs in the first week of the finals on their way to the title.
Masila said he was proud of his boys for their effort during their run and looked forward to coaching them next year.
When asked if the Storm could make it three in a row in 2016, he said it would be a tough ask.
“I don’t know about that, we’ll see what happens,” he said. “I think the competition’s going to be tough.”
Robinvale Storm also claimed the Under 17 grand final with a 36-10 victory over Sunraysia Rabbitohs.
