Relay for change

THE RECOGNISE Relay, which invites communities across Australia to be part of the movement to recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Constitution, will make its way to Mildura and Dareton next week.

The relay began in May 2013 and has clocked up more t han 32,000 km.

On Tuesday the relay will make its way to Dareton Oval, between 12.30pm and 2.30pm while next Wednesday, from 11am, there will be a panel discussion and morning tea at Mildura District Aboriginal Services Hall.

RECOGNISE campaigner Belinda Frail said sections of the current constitution allow for racial discrimination and fails to acknowledge more than 40,000 years of history for indigenous people.
