Bold new art

AN EXCITING new photographic exhibition opened in The Art Vault last week.

Two Australian digital artists showcased very thematically different exhibitions side by side as part of the Mildura Wentworth Arts Festival (MWAF).

Lorena Carrington and Sophia Szilagyi will be exhibiting until March 9 as part of Project Lens – the new lens-based art project event MWAF is running.

The imagery in Ms Szilagyi’s exhibit Remembered Places “evokes the natural world with open seas and vast skies” inviting you into their emptiness.

Lorena Carrington’s digital artistry focuses more on narrative.

Her images explore dark, forgotten fairytales in which female protagonists engage in adventures “on their own terms”.
