Direct mailing is littering

There are definitely two very distinct categories of opinion when it comes to “junk” mail, or advertising mail as it is also known – those who love it and those who loathe it.

Despite online sales and marketing taking the world by storm, direct mailing is still a booming industry. 

While regional mailboxes are not as inundated as those in urban areas, the average Australian household receives six pieces of junk mail each day and over five days we produce enough junk mail to reach the moon.

The production of junk mail also is a resource intensive process with an estimated 2.6 million trees used to produce junk mail each year and countless mega litres of water.
