Visitors flock to Sunraysia

SUNRAYSIA’S caravan parks are bursting at the seams with the influx of visitors to the region for the Easter weekend.

The 2014 Mildura 100 Ski Race (pictured right) and Power Sports Extravaganza have ensured that this Easter has been one of the busiest in recent years, with many accommodation providers having to turn people away.

Buronga Riverside Caravan Park owner Gay Trood said she had been booked out for six months in advance.

“We could probably have booked it

another 20 times over,” Mrs Trood said.

“Being in the tri-state area, we’ve had people coming from all over the place.

“Probably 80 per cent of people here are already re-booking for next year.

“There has been a really good atmosphere. It’s a little cooler with it being later in the year but the weather has been really good.

“It’s a great thing for the town.”

Sarah Cox of Apex Park River Beach Holiday Park said this Easter has been the busiest she has seen.

“All of our cabins, villas and powered sites have been booked out, even most of our un-powered sites,” she said,

“We usually still have a few vacancies with those but this year they are full.

“A lot of South Australians have come across.
