A message from the club president

A warm welcome to all competitors and visitors to the Mildura Ski Club’s Mildura 100, welcome also to the beautiful Murray River and Sunraysia area and please enjoy your stay.

Once again our race committee has put together another outstanding event with over 450 entries and 230 boats.

Our club has worked particularly hard this year in reviewing and improving an already well run ski race.

You will notice physical changes to the bank at the club site that will accommodate more boats along with the corporate area returning to the club rooms.

We will once again utilise two ramps to assist competitors efficiently launch and remove their boats.

We have made significant changes to the event which have been competitor driven.

The most significant is that Expert Class will start two boats at a time. Further the Dash for Cash and Presidents Invitational will total 40 boats and significantly these boats will be seeded according to the Dash for Cash times for the Sunday expert start. We hope both competitors and spectators will enjoy this racing.

On Sunday morning the club has introduced a small ceremony that will have two parts, one will be a minutes silence in memory of those who past in the preceding twelve months and secondly we will have the National Anthem sung by a guest performer.

On behalf of the club we acknowledge our loyal sponsors led again by Damien Matthews and GTS Freight Management, we sincerely thank all of you.

Once again Mildura Rural City Council has provided outstanding support and to all our club members who have rolled up their sleeves and assisted in many ways, we thank you.

The support of all the competitors in coming to this event is outstanding after a long season we thank you for your commitment.

Finally we are excited with our new venture with Ski Racing Victoria that will see the Ted Hurley Classic run between Wentworth and Mildura on November  29 and 30 this year. We know that this alliance will produce a spectacular event and we look forward to hosting you in November.

Safe racing and happy Easter.
