Black Dog Ride a success

THE inaugural Mildura Black Dog Ride has exceeded all expectations with more than $6300 raised for suicide prevention support services.

The recent one-day ride from the Mildura wharf to Renmark attracted 200 riders and organisers have confirmed it will be on again next year.

Mildura Telstra Business Centre director Alisa Pratt said the ride, which included participants from Mildura, Robinvale, Swan Hill and Sea Lake, was “incident and hassle-free”.

“The safety vehicle was not required, thankfully,” she said.

Ms Pratt said riders met at the Mildura wharf where the Mildura Lions Club provided a hot breakfast, before Mildura Mayor Glenn Milne officially opened the event.

“Volunteers from Lower Murray Medicare Local and the team from Telstra Business Centre took registrations that morning,” she said.
