JUST as he had in their past match-ups, Merbein goal-kicking machine Korey Loechel had his way against South Mildura on the weekend.

The 32-year-old was prolific in the forward half for the Magpies, finishing with eight of his team's 22 goals in their 74-point win.

Fit and raring to go after a strong pre-season, Loechel said his haul was a result of a strong team performance across the ground.
