It was interesting to read a statement about another Victorian rural hospital.

From the Hamilton Spectator:

“Since I assumed the directorship of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Western District Health Service in 2003, no terminations have been performed at this hospital and none will be performed.

“Be assured that I will not be legally forced by any government, head of state, medical board or patient, to perform any procedure that I, as a matter of conscience, disagree with.

“Should they ever be in a position to enforce that upon doctors, then I shall bid my farewell to the medical profession.” (Signed: Dr C. Cloete)
