I WAS disappointed when I read the comments from Mel Casey of Irymple in “Txt the Editor” with regards to an admission charge to the Sunraysia Junior Football League finals.
Does Mr Casey believe that the conducting of finals runs on fresh air?
Certainly the game needs players to have a game, but it also needs umpires who are paid each week to officiate the games.
It also requires grounds that are maintained and marked each week for the whole football season.
It also provides the opportunity for players to represent the Sunraysia district and play in other areas with travelling costs and uniforms provided free.
And most of all its provides a healthy and competitive activity our youth can participate in.
Great value for the cost of $5.
