03 Sep, 2010 05:00 AM
AS of Wednesday, September 1, the Murray cod season was officially closed and will not reopen again until December 1 – three months’ time.

The blanket closure on Murray cod fishing is timed to coincide with the breeding season and with good flows in the river, all looks good for future stocks.

To reflect back is to revisit some sensational catches and some new equipment that kept cameras flashing and anglers grinning.

As lures for Murray cod go, the standout this season both on the cast and troll would have to be the Koolabung Codzilla.
