MANY locals and tourists came out to watch the final laps of the Tour Of The Murray finishing up in Mildura yesterday.
The last day of the tour’s 14-stage race came to an end yesterday with the sunny weather bringing out Sunraysia crowds for the event.
Many lined the road as Tour cyclists hit the 30-lap journey in the morning in front of the Grand Hotel.
Mildura resident Denise Kennedy said that for the past few years she had come to show her support for the event and the cyclists.
“I make an effort to come each year, especially when it’s lovely weather like today,” Ms Kennedy said.
“I enjoy watching the Tour De France on TV too, but it’s only the Tour of the Murray I come to watch.
“I’ve always had an interest in cycling, so I’ll be back next year,” she said.
Cycling enthusiast Jenny Cameron said she enjoyed coming down for a look since her son had been involved in the sport.
“My son use to compete here a few years ago, so since then I’ve come down to see the Tour,” she said.
“A lot of the family would come down and watch too but this year we have just bought down the grandchildren.
“We also watch the Port to Port,” Ms Cameron said.
