MILDURA’S Nathan Carnie, from U Can Do It Boxing Club, stepped into the ring for his fifth competitive bout at a Pro-Am tournament in Adelaide last weekend.
Carnie, 22, is currently boxing in the under 69 kilogram novice class and his opponent, Owen Hanns was from the Cove Boxing Club.
The first of three rounds began with Carnie feeling out his opponent, adapting a hit and run style, utilising jabs and combinations to take a respectable lead into the first break.
Moving into the second round and with growing confidence, Carnie settled into a pattern of jabs, double jabs and combinations with left hook.
