Basketball: Mildura Heat seek smooth road

31 Jul, 2010 04:00 AM
Mildura Heat basketball teams hit the road for the final rounds of home and away games this weekend, with the finals firmly in mind.

The Hydraulic Solutions men already know the equation – they’re undefeated at the top of the ladder and despite a double-header in front of them this weekend, that won’t change.

For the Sportzprint Women the picture is less clear.

Also with a double-header in Melbourne, the women are fourth on the ladder, equal with third-placed Warrandyte on points, but behind on percentage.

Heat meets ninth-placed Melbourne University tonight.

A win will secure the finals action, but a loss would make tomorrow’s game against fifth-placed Whittlesea a cut-throat affair.

It’s a situation coach Butch Pearce wants to avoid.
