The identical twins will start at Mildura West Primary School, where their big sister Ebonee is already a pupil.

The twins were in kinder last year and have been learning their shapes, alphabet and numbers in the lead up to day one in prep.

Their mum Donnah Newson has no trouble telling her twins apart, however the same can’t be said for the rest of the family.

Paris and Gabrielle’s nana has been known to paint their nails different colours to identify them and they’ve even come home with a P and G drawn on their foreheads after a visit to their aunty’s house.

“The girls have got Ms Culpin and she’s also an identical twin herself,” Ms Newson said.

“So being a twin I think she will be able to work it out.

“After a while she’ll be able to tell by their personalities, Gabby doesn’t shut up!”

This year Mildura West has introduced a new uniform. It’s out with the yellow and brown and in with a stylish blue number.

“This is our new uniform, we’ve got a whole new, fresh look for Mildura West,” Ms Newson said.

“They were so excited about their uniforms that on Boxing Day they asked me, ‘Can we go to school now?’

“And again after New Year, ‘Can we go to school now?’”

According to state government websites, public schools will start term one from tomorrow, February 1, while New South Wales schools started from last Friday.
