A MILDURA medical group and children’s clothing entrepreneur from Birchip are among the winners of the 2011 Regional Achievement and Community Awards.
Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional and Rural Development Peter Ryan joined more than 350 guests at a gala awards ceremony in Ballarat at the weekend to announce the winners in two key categories sponsored by Regional Development Victoria.
The Tristar Medical Group of Mildura won the Regional Development Victoria Business Achievement Award and Andrea Harrison from Birchip took out the Regional Development Victoria Trade and Career Achievement Award.
“The Tristar Medical Group (TMG), based in Mildura, operates 29 medical clinics throughout regional Victoria and New South Wales offering affordable and accessible health care in communities with limited access to medical services,” Mr Ryan said.
“TMG supports 90 GPs, 20 full-time practice nurses and 140 support staff and I congratulate TMG on the important role it is playing in creating jobs and delivering vital health services to our regions.’’
