Spida’s on our doorstep

A FOOTY legend is putting Sunraysia in the spotlight.

Peter “Spida” Everitt is in Mildura this week filming an episode for Channel 7Two’s The Great Australian Doorstep.

The former AFL star will spend the next few days exploring Orange World, the Perry Sandhills and Sunraysia’s unique river surrounds.

Celebrating his 36th birthday yesterday, Everitt kicked back with his wife Sheree and their three children.

“I love it here,” he said.

“I came up here for Cup Day last year and had a ball.”

Since hanging up his footy boots in 2008, Everitt has been travelling Australia with his family as part of The Great Australian Doorstep.

“Life after footy has been interesting,” he said.

“With the show we’re probably on the road for about four months.
