MILDURA’S latest solar power station proposal will be unveiled to the public at the launch of an information centre in Mildura today.
Mayor Glenn Milne will open the TRUenergy Project Information Centre in the Old Mildura Sports Centre on the corner of Langtree Avenue and Ninth Street at 1pm today.
TRUenergy is proposing to build a 180 megawatt solar power station somewhere south of Mildura near Red Cliffs as part of the Federal Government’s Solar Flagships Program.
The plant will use First Solar’s photovoltaic PV technology and be able to power more than 60,000 homes with clean energy for more than 20 years.
The project will be constructed by Lend Lease Solar, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bovis Lend Lease, one of the world’s leading project management, design and construction companies.
