MILDURA is one of the most welfare-dependent regions in Victoria at almost twice the state average.

According to figures released by the Institute of Public Affairs this week, more than 13 per cent of residents in the Mildura Local Government Area are on some form of welfare compared to the overall state average of 7.5 per cent.
